Portland's Sellwood Bridge in morning fog

Sellwood Bridge in morning fogPortland's Sellwood Bridge in morning fog This is another example of the use of Lightroom to create an instant black and white. The original color image was fairly monochromatic to start with, so it took little work to turn this into a good black and white shot.

In the Develop module, I first made basic adjustments to keep detail in the sun and to bring out some detail of the bridge superstructure. I clicked the black and white tab, then made slight adjustments to the sliders to lower the yellow and orange channels — a further step to control the brightness of the sun.

That's it. A powerful black and white image in about three minutes of work.
